kese; köpük masajı; tellak (male attendant); natır (female attendant); keseci
The bath attendant’s hands-on technique in the Turkish hammam: after the bather sweats on the heated marble platform (göbek taşı), the attendant rinses them from a bowl, scrubs with a coarse kese mitt until dead skin rolls away, then soaps a wet muslin cloth, balloons it into foam and glides the foam over the body before final rinsing and a loofah wash. A body-practice record (no object is made), included at CRAFT’s decision of October 2026.
